Aloha everyone greetings from Kona Hawaii,
As mentioned on the last update we had a couple of things to celebrate! Mauri Paihere celebrates her 5th Birthday at Hapuna Beach. She had choice time swimming and of course receiving gifts!
Nathaniel & Lorell got married! and what an awesome wedding it was. At the beach, beautiful day, conch shell blowing, hula dancing, karanga going on, waiata and haka and a huge feast at the Island Breeze Luau. It was appropriate that they stood in the sea as the Pacific ocean connects them to Aotearoa to family that were not able to make it. Congratulations to you both!! ma te Ariki korua e manaak
The final days we spent time in Kona visiting the the University of the Nations, staying at the Kings mansion (the very first YWAM base), swimming at the beach, feeding the homeless, doing workshops with the Island Breeze Hula studios, helping out at Makapala and reflecting on our time in Hawaii.
There is so much we are thankful for and as individuals we walk away with our own stories and testimonies of what had taken place in our hearts. We are overwhelmed by the people of Hawaii and are humbled by their generosity to us, truley the essence of Aloha expressed and so we thank you Hawaii for being good to us and releasing us with your blessings as we return to Aotearoa.
Tomorrow we leave Makapala at 5:30 am to catch our flight home. It has been an awesome time.
Next weekend we plan to have our final gathering of Te Haerenga. It will be great to see everyone who has participated in Te Haerenga as we bring everything to a close and announce the dates of Te Haerenga 2007.
Until our next update.
Noho ora mai!
