STAFF Ray & Shaneane Totorewa - Directors of IBNZ Ray, a New Zealand Maori, and Shaneane an Australian, have been working as full-time missionaries since 1989/1991. God has placed with their hearts a desire to impact the nations with His truth and his purposes. God has challenged them to champion these nations to reach their full potential in Christ and to be released into missions world-wide, through the celebration of their cultural heritage and the use of the unique, God given strengths that dwell within each one. Ray Totorewa was born and raised in Huntly, New Zealand. Ray joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 1989. Rays first missionary endeavour was to the Philippines and he has been leading outreach teams into the mission field ever since. In 1991, Ray joined up with John and Jill Nuualiitia to assist in the pioneering of Island Breeze New Zealand (IBNZ) and has been with the ministry since that time. Ray delights in cross-cultural ministry and loves to minister and teach throughout the nations. His passion for Frontier missions recently took him into the heart of the Amazon jungle with a team from Island Breeze International. Another desire of Rays is to equip Maoris for the mission-field, and champion them beyond the shores of Australasia. Ray met
his wife Shaneane through Island Breeze, and they were married in 1997.
Shaneane Totorewa was born and raised in the Blue Mountains near Sydney,
Australia. They have 2 daughters. Mauri Paihere, born 12th July 2000 and Micah Serenity, born 16th Dec 2005. Marina PeautoluMarina has served faithfully in Island Breeze for many years. Marina did a DTS in Hawaii and then went to Australia in 1988 with Ieru and Karen Toomua to establish Island Breeze in Melbourne, Victoria. Marina married Iata, (half Niuean & half Maori) in 1994 and continued to serve with Island Breeze Australia until 2002. They are both passionate about missions and in particular the vision of Island Breeze hence the reason why they are still involved. Highlights of their ministry: -seeing thousands of souls surrender to Jesus through the Island Breeze stage presentation, -extensive travel to every state of Australia including outreaches to aboriginal communities, -international outreaches to Spain, USA, Sth Africa and the Amazon Jungle of Brazil, just to name a few. In 2002 they returned to NZ with their son Te Irimana who is 6 yrs old now, for closer family interaction and to enhance the artistic gifts of Iata. They are very involved with Island Breeze in the Production and Design Departments and with the overall vision of IB. They had another son Avaiki (3) and have settled here in the beautiful city of Tauranga.
